In Tokyo, I trained at Vasileus Gym, one of Japan’s top K-1 kickboxing gyms, guided by elite coach Tsutomu Takahagi. Vasileus Gym is known for producing world-class fighters and is associated with legends like Takeru Segawa and Masaaki Noiri, under the leadership of head trainer Masakazu Watanabe.

After the training, I interviewed Shintaro Matsukura to talk about discipline, mindset, and what it truly takes to compete at the highest level of K-1 kickboxing.
